Date / Time: Started 6:30am Aspect / Elevation: Pit on NW aspect at ~9,150’ just below summit. 4–8” of light new snow up to ~8,500’, then more like 8–12” higher up. Didn’t see any wind loading or wind slabs anywhere on the tour. No cracking, shooting fractures, or whumpfing. New snow was sitting on mostly hard old snow, with some slightly softer layers underneath in spots (probably old facets). Snowpack tests at ~9,150’: - CT: no failures even after more than 30 taps - ECT: no failures or propagation - Hand hardness: F → 4F → 1F → P - Pencil-hard crust about 80–90 cm down - Overall density right-side-up
