Quick Observation
Skinned up Grizzly Shoulder and skied down to Rogers run. Above treeline the snow was wind packed with a breakable crust on S aspects and loose fluffy on N aspects. The day was cloudy with low vis. Below 1500m the snow transitioned from being dry powder on the morning to wet loose powder in the afternoon. All aspects and elevations are poorly bonded to the crust below.
Weather
Snowpack
We found crusts developing on S facing aspects while N aspects were wind loaded and skiing well. ~20cm of new snow sitting on a hard crust, this layer was poorly bonded. We triggered a couple size 1 dry loose slides above treeline. Below treeline (1500m) the snow was wet and heavy, with poor bonding. It was easy to trigger small wet loose sluffs that ran for up to 10m in length on steeper terrain.
