Poked into Gorman today to get a feel of the effect of the warm up. Widespread natural avalanche cycle up to size 3 on all aspects in the alpine, failing in storm snow and likely Jan 2nd interface.
A melt freeze crust up to 2cm thick existed from 2100-2300m. Above 2400m dry snow was found and in an elevation band between 2000-2100m we were also able to find dry snow. Solar effect was strong before noon, but high cloud kept things from falling apart in the afternoon.
