Quick report
Traveled up McCallum Creek and spent a night on South side at 5000’. Snow was heavily wind affected, but generally stable, there was a thin w ind skin/ice crust in south facing slopes. Noted a few cornice collapses on south facing aspects. Pit dug at 5200’ on South facing aspect. Snow depth 180-200cm. ECT NP. CT 25 failed on ice crust at 30cm depth. No propagation on this ice crust during ECT. At ~120 to ~160cm depth there were rounding facets. We climbed to 6250’ on south facing slope. Climbing was great, but breakable crust convinced us to leave skis at bottom of valley.
