Goodwills west side, ~5pm. Above 2800', the melt/freeze crust disappeared and conditions were good for skiing. In many places the new snow felt upside-down, with a wind/warmth stiffened layer near the surface, and softer drier snow underneath. In general this was supportable enough that skiing was great despite being upside down. No formal tests, but the snow was "sponge" like and refused to crack on switchback corners. Observed cornice fall triggered avalanche (mid to late storm). This did not step down or propagate laterally.
