Schuylkill Ridge

The April Fool's faceted crust is showing improvements in stability tests and small, steep test slopes.   It's buried about 50 cm near treeline and 30 cm below treeline under slabs up to 4F.  Layer characteristics were variable across the terrain, and we still treated bigger/higher consequence slopes with caution due to the variable feedback this problem has given us in the past few days.   

A couple of stability tests on NE to N aspects NTL produced non propagating results (ECTNH) on the 4/1 crust, which had 1mm rounding facets below a 50 cm slab (F to 4F). Small, unsupported rollovers produced clean shears below treeline, otherwise test slopes were quiet underfoot.  Snow surfaces became moist on NE aspects below treeline and remained dry near treeline.  Snow surfaces on east and south have gotten wet and are refreezing well into a solid crust overnight.  The 4/1 crust remains frozen solid.
