Quick report
Primo (plastic saucer) sledding conditions on a southwest aspect below treeline. Saucer penetration depth was initially suboptimal for people over 45 pounds, however improved dramatically as the sun sank behind schuykill ridge and snow surfaces began to cool. At this point, saucer speed increased for those both greater or less than 45 pounds. We found 0-40cm of wet facets and no signs of instability, although the structure lacked strength. Wind was calm, temps in the upper 30s F dropping to near freezing as the sun began to set. Additional details provided by the Director of Sliding activities: “We had fun sledding, and snowmobiling, and also digging a hole, and playing a game.”
