Cloud cover decreased into the mid-day, with the sun beginning to warm the snow in some areas. The wind was still blowing the snow around up high.
Snowpack
Average settled HST varied from about 4 to 7" in this area. Previous winds also scoured the new snow away in some areas. We didn't encounter any slab issues and loose snow avalanches on northerly slopes were very small. On southerly facing slopes below 11,500ft the new snow was becoming moist but didn't reach a point that it could wet loose here. The wind at upper elevations appeared to be keeping the snow cooler.
