Quick report

Observed previous storm debris and very solid bed surface In the first couloir (north facing, lookers right in the first major bowl). Wind was present halfway up during both our climbs but oddly calm up top. Spindrift present in the lake couloir.

Avalanche

Broke an isolated wind slab at the last 2/3rds of our climb up the lake couloir. Broke about 15 to 20 feet above us (three skiers) and slid past us as we moved to the side. Crown was about 10 feet wide and 8”to10” deep. Deep soft snow from apron up before the wind slab - which started to feel progressively thicker as we climbed up. Then back to soft surface conditions after the choke. Bed surface was variable throughout the whole chute.
