This avalanche in the Dog Lake Chutes was a skier triggered cornice that broke out 1'-3' deep x 200' wide. This avalanche ran 500' vertical before stacking debris up 8' deep on the bench below. This avalanche would be classified as a D2 (destructive size 2) which is large enough to bury, injure, or kill a person.
