We experienced isolated collapsing and cracking while skinning on a NW aspect below treeline with one significant collapse in a sheltered convexity. It would have been a more cohesive slide at a steeper angle. See photos.

Nice day out to stay on your toes! Evidence of recent high winds at all elevations, including new deadfall and blown branches. Sharp contrast between windward and leeward slopes; northerly aspects appear pillowy and taut, while southerlies are scoured firm. We stuck to conservative terrain below treeline and still found bright red flags. We crossed a small convex slope while cutting a skin track toward Westwoods and experienced adjacent collapses with shooting cracks. It's loaded and touchy!

Significant hazard from wind slabs

A good refresh of mid-density snow 4-6" in protected areas. Heavy enough to make breaking trail a bit of work but not so deep to really slow you down. Impressive wind contouring on north-facing slopes. Laurel Ridge was scoured.
