I noticed this fresh rider triggered avalanche from a distance at around 11:00 this morning, and there were a few riders in the area... Looks like it occurred this morning, but it could have been yesterday afternoon. I'd love to hear the story, and I'm glad everyone is okay...
The deep hard slab avalanche looks like it failed on December or January faceted snow or depth hoar... This is a good illustration of "pockets" of dangerous avalanche conditions.
