The shallow snow is very weak and getting weaker. Structureless faceted snow is widespread at upper and mid elevations in the Logan Zone....
Despite the generally very shallow conditions in the Logan Peak Area, I was still able to find some nice soft and fast recrystallized snow.
Snowpack
I found some nice recrystallized "powder", But you'd almost sink in too far since the snowpack is completely faceted throughout. Many areas you'd sink all the way through to the ground even with skis on.
