Quick report
Poked around the W aspect of the McHugh Complex to gauge current skiability in the wasteland. Rabbit Creek looks a little rough, but the gullies of Peak 3, 4, and Ptarmigan seem to have benefited from the storm. Surface conditions were predictably hard, with only a few soft turns to be had around 2000'. The gully harbored snow depths of over two meters while the surrounding slopes were bare of snow. A pit at 2300' in the gully showed a stout surface slab overlying a thin layer of 4F+ decomposing grains. Besides a mid-pack melt freeze crust, the rest of the pit was 1F+ wind-packed rounds. I did not dig to ground, however probing suggested that a ~10cm basal facet/depth hoar layer may exist. No red flags were observed.
