Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Obvious wind transport observed near ridgelines throughout the day. Across the valley, multiple storm snow avalanches had carried to near the valley floor at some point during the cycle based on older crowns and debris piles. Observed a debris pile from a size 1.5 natural in hippie bowl that likely failed within the storm snow on 11/8. Also observed a small debris cone from a point release near the ridge of hippie bowl at some point during the day. Witnessed a skier triggered size 1 on a steep unsupported convexity that likely failed on the 11/5 interface.

Wind was fairly consistent out of the E/NE in the alpine. Light with Moderate gusts. Skies slowly cleared through the morning, approaching fully clear at the pass around noon before clouds moved in around 1400.
Snowpack
Test slopes produced isolated cracking on convexities, but did not propagate widely. Mitt pitts on the uptrack failed easily on the 11/5 interface. A pit dug at 2200ft on a NW aspect showed a total HS of 150cms, 75cm of which was new storm snow. Fluctuating temps during the storm produced fairly layered new snow, with windy conditions today creating an upside down structure in the upper snowpack. An ECT did not propagate, but failed ECTN 13 on the 11/5 interface on faceted snow (pit profile attached).
