Quick report

Widespread surface hoar present from the parking lot up to ~10k feet, up to 10mm in size. Less prevalent on S aspects where a thin sun crust is present. The slope we skied gets little to no direct sunlight this time of year, and was excellent facet surfing. No signs of wind slab or any slab development from the new snow earlier in the week, which appears to have mostly faceted. Ski pen was 40-50cm, and I could easily push my 130cm pole all the way into the snow, basket side down. We triggered a few, harmless facet sluffs while skiing. A few natural, dry loose D1s on the N and NE aspects in the basin that did not trigger anything deeper and look to be a few days old. Experienced small harmless facet sluffs while skiing. No cracking or collapsing noted.
