Quick report
Day off ski to enjoy some fresh snow and classic Glacier Park views on a partly sunny, calm day.
- 1 to 4" of new snow overnight. Dry in the morning, moist to wet at mid elevations by mid afternoon. Moist on shady aspects.
- No signs of wind transport up to our high point of 7500' or on higher slopes we could see.
- After the warm, wet weather of the past 6 weeks, there's almost no snow at low elevations (below 5000') except for old avalanche debris or in shaded drainage bottoms. Choose your exits carefully. The rocky upper elevation terrain on Mt. Edwards looks relatively dry.
- On the steep, southerly slopes of our exit, the crust below the fresh snow was less reliable below about 5500 feet.
- We had great great travel and riding conditions above 5000 feet. Icing-on-crust made for straightforward skiing and fast turns. Worth the walk.

Few clouds in the AM; broken skies in the PM with a few snow flurries/ wintery mix showers. Calm to light winds.
Snowpack
- 2-10cm fresh snow that got moist to wet, depending on elevation and aspect.
- Old snow surface was a reliably supportable (on skis) melt-freeze crust. Not icy, boot pen 30+ cm at mid elevations.
