The usual spatial variability per post March 6 rain event with 5.8cm of 10.9% SWE (per MWOBS F6). Results were had performing instability tests on new snow on rain crust and within wind loaded snow. Sherburne had dust-on-crust which made it barely skiable and ski descent was a wondrous combination of terrifying and fun. We didn't expect much but as we - Acadia Mtn guides/instructors with students - ascended the TRT, things got a bit interesting above the Huntington Fire Road intersection as wind loading was more evident and pronounced. We got easy to mod hand shear results along the trail on an interface within the wind loaded new post rain event snow as well as easy results doing ski cuts. Hmmmmmm ......

TAir -12.0 at HoJos and -10.0 on Hermit Lake. Winds moderate to strong from the W. Precip S-1 to S1. All obs around 13:30 to 15:00.
Snowpack
New wind loaded snow over the March 6 rain event. 190-260cm along the SW part of Hermit Lake. Non reactive facet layers (small facets) below the rain crust. CTM Score 14 SP, Q1 14cm down in the wind loaded snow. ECTN Score 23 14cm down in the wind loaded snow. Within wind loaded "pillows" there can be various interfaces. CTM Score 16 SP, Q1 60 down below the March 6 rain crust.
