Quick Observation

Did Chick-A-Boom traverse today given the tight window we had wx wise in the AM. Good track to the bench, then we had to put it in. Probed HS of 3+m on the glacier before Chimney col. Popped over the col into Boom valley - crevasses, séracs and bare ice were somewhat visible (our viz was so-so). Crevasses had snow bridges but with lots of sagging. Flats were a pain as the snow on the N aspect was knee deep ! Worked out way back towards the lower col to head back to Chickadee valley. Some loose drys from steep rock was happening all day and we observed lots of older avi debris from earlier this week. Avi path down back to Chickadee had a bit of a sun crust but was manageable. Ski pen on the bench leading to Chimney col was about 15cm. Couple of uptracks noticed going up most S facing paths in Chickadee valley / likely put in yesterday given the weather. A bit longer than we expected given we had to put in the track and the sheer amount of snow on the flats down towards Boom lake. No slabs observed nor big signs of instability.
