Quick Observation
Surface hoar layer definitely got buried at treeline. The ~20cms of new snow was incredibly reactive with really wide propagation. Every feature that could go in the Prayer Flags area went, most of it going remotely just from looking at it! Skiing it was kind of wild with shooting cracks everywhere and the bottom of every pillow popping off as you went past. The alpine doesn't seem to have the same problem, but when the sun came out, most of the whole bowl from Geronimo to Fish Bowl started going off with point release loose slides. No visible crowns, but the point releases got quite big and entrained a lot of snow, running (for example) all the way into the Hourglass from the top. My guess is most of what was going to go went today and tomorrow will be much more manageable (although watch out for the sun) but it'd be nice to get a report from someone who traveled in the alpine today!
