Snowing and blowing at 4am and persisted till 10am. The upper mountain started to see sun by 11am. Plenty of great skiing all around the south side including on the upper pitches of the mountain. At devil’s kitchen i did a hasty pit to see 2’ of new snow sitting on top of a thin crust that was easy to penetrate. An ECT gave us a result ECTP3 20cm down. While traversing to the hogs back shooting cracks were prolific and when skinning above our skin track slabs released with ease. Then we got a monster sudden collapse that shook the ground for a solid 3 seconds and made a thunderous sound. We decided to spin at 10,350’. We skied down the zig zag glacier which was holding marvelous snow.
