Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Approximately ~1.5 feet of new, dry powder. No major red flags as ascended to Lichtenwasser Lake. We broke trail ascending the S aspect of the east ridge and snow was consistently stable on that side. Once we gained the ridge, we started to hear some isolated woompfing and trigger a small ~6” storm slab below us. Proceeded to traverse the ridge until we found some lower angle terrain. No other slides were triggered on the descent but we saw evidence of one other slide earlier that day that was shallow but likely traveled ~50 feet.

Avalanche

We triggered a ~6 inch storm slab on the N facing aspect of Lichtenberg East ridge traversing W along the ridge in search of lower angle terrain. Slide traveled ~15 feet before coming to a stop. Snowpack was mostly stable as we descended; appeared to get more secure as we dropped elevation.
