Unexpectedly beautiful day with mostly blue skies. Moderate W /SW winds on upper slopes with visible wind affected snow in the upper bowl but no avalanches or signs of instability seen. Dug 2 small pits, 40 degree open NE aspect 3650 HS 120cm HST about 35cm, various crusts visible but storm snow not consolidated and ECTX here; 40 degree NW treed slope @ 4700 also ECTX. Early season conditions for sure but better than expected.
