Very little avalanche activity or signs of concern. Pack was variable and shallow, from no coverage up to ~20cm in some wind-deposited drifts. Recent surface snow was an inconsistent ~2cm atop a very hard icy surface which seemed to go to ground-this surface was soft enough by 10:30a to yield some passable turns. The deeper sections of snow from wind found on east faces were much more enjoyable. Started getting acutely rocky/sharky around 6100’, but above that, avoiding rocks was straightforward. Stayed off anything that was obviously building cornices, but the sort of collapsing behavior in the drifts indicated they could be capable of dumping you if you stood on one.
