Quick report
Travel conditions down low are still challenging due to lack of low elevation snow. New snow range from dust on crust near the car (3500ft) to 20cm. Snow seemed well bonded to the crust which was stout and noticeable up to 5500ft. New snow in the AM fell as graupel which was widespread and very easily transported. Wind slab forming on top of this graupel from new snow being wind drifted seems like it could be quite reactive. Winds out of the N were much stronger than forecast and transported large amounts of fresh snow. Skin tracks from the group ahead of us were filling in under 20min. No new avalanches seen. No instabilities felt other than near ridge line where some minor but thick slabs were forming. The slabs did not seem very cohesive. No instabilities in the descent on W/SW slopes up to 33 degrees. Sun seemed to have no effect on snow surfaces or even creating any tree or cliff bombs. High quality snow should persist with lingering wind slab problems on most aspects.
