Quick report
Today's goal was to look for wet loose avalanches and signs of instability on sunnier aspects. There were rollerballs and some small, inconsequential natural wet loose avalanches that appeared to release today, but less activity than we expected. There was more cloud cover and wind (as per remote weather stations) earlier in the day, before I was driving.
Isolated small D1 wet loose slides on W-SW-S. Older dry slab avalanche crowns (estimated Jan 5-9).Weather

Widespread small SH on surface where it didn't get baked in the sun or wet.
Avalanche
Wet Loose: Several small D1 natural slides orginating near rocks from 8800-10000' on sunny, W-SW-S aspects, mostly in the Boulder Mtns. Slab avalanches: Several crowns (D2, occurring Jan 5-9?) in the northern Sawtooths (alpine NE-E-SE), with one fairly crisp and most crowns filled in to some extent. Lots of covered debris/evidence of avalanches that released during the early January storms.
