Varying conditions across the terrain largely characterized by how the snow had, or had not been, affected by recent winds. Thin wind slabs made skiing unpleasant in most places where the snow was deep enough to avoid hitting rocks. Some dense and shallow but enjoyable powder was found on a northeast aspect around 8600ft elevation. Evidence of both SW and NE winds included cornices on both sides of the ridge. Widespread windslab observed in unsheltered areas. Cracks while skinning specific to slabs 5cm thick and less.

Snowpack
Dug a pit on a north facing slope in upper tree line, 9100ft and 23 degrees slope angle. Observed 59cm snow depth. CT14 failed on basal facets around 14cm. Delicate rain crust around 52-54cm, otherwise sugary, faceted snow throughout the column.
