Quick report

Cracking
isolated

We found very dense new snow on the surface, and on windward slopes the addition of a rime crust prevented significant wind transport. But signs of previous wind transport were observed, and one small natural wind slab avalanche was seen near the summit of Talking. We thought this was several hours old, based on additional snowfall on top of the debris that no longer had sharp edges. Settlement cracks were observed near trees, and wind loaded test slopes were stubborn to produce even short cracks. We got test slopes to crack a little farther by undercutting the slabs first.

We saw a recent but very small natural avalanche, and got some very short cracks on wind loaded test slopes
