Quick report
12:00. Dug a pit above the crown. Soft new snow over the crust formed after the recent weather events. Also a weak snow under the crust. Both layers are F. Decided not to go over the crown. Bootpacked and skied runaway with no signs of instability. From my noob perspective, after natural avalanches occurred, snowpack is stable until the new fresh snow will be deposited, I wold be watching a temperature during the upcoming storms. After turning away I went to the Gully #1 where the most of the traffic was today and saw no instabilities, maybe natural avalanches had a place there as well but the gully was already skied out and wasn’t possible to see that around 14:00. At the Main Gully I found pretty firm surface. Scoured and ice above 1500m. I would say my observations are pretty well aligned with past few day’s forecasts.
Avalanche
R3D2 and R2D2 natural avalanches. Crown was around 1400m where slope gets steeper that 40 degrees and ice is visible.
