Quick report
I visited the western end of the Powderhouse ridge today. Snow was wet and heavy from Hwy 89 to my highpoint of ~8800.' Ski penetration was between 5-10cms and boot penetration was between 20-30cms. Winds were strong and clouds were increasing during my time on Luther Pass. Multiple flurries of graupel fell and small amounts of fresh graupel were blown around by the wind near and above treeline. At lower elevations I was surprised by how much melting had occurred recently. Streams are opening up and snow bridges are getting spicy.
