Quick report
Dug a snow pit at 9900' on an east-facing aspect of Round Top with 38-deg slope. Observed an 8" wind slab that was reactive during a compression test. There was a hard ice layer in many locations. In some cases, this layer was buried under a few inches of recent snow, generating slough and making skinning difficult. In other cases, the ice layer was exposed and showed significant hoar.
