Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
The area had been recently hammered by the SW winds. Most of the ridgeline had overhanging cornices. Along the ridgeline was sastrugi. All north aspects of the Thunder Bowl descent had breakable crust. It varied in depth from 3-5 cm; it was thicker in the trees. At the very top was some softer blown-in snow mixed with hard snow. The west facing ascent had a melt freeze crust that was breaking down at about 1:30pm.
