Spring flush has happened on most aspects in Kootenay National Park. The Hawk Creek Trail was covered in multiple avalanches that came down at some point earlier this week that took out burnt timber. Had to take off skis and walk over the debris. Released a small size 1 avanche in a small pocket that was protected by wind on SE aspect at approximately 2,500 m elevation. It was a 20 cm storm slab that released on a sun crust. Skiing on West, SW, south aspects was crust or breakable crust.
