Arctic @ Heavens Gate

Heavens gate from Cole Creek Rd. Observed cracking in wind affected areas in cut block and around ridge crests on route to ridge top. Multiple isolated wind slabs of varying hardness, notably some recently formed 2-5cm thick and very reactive. Enjoyed the crisp views and skiid the trees and lower gully to cut block. Good powder in sheltered areas but very slow due to snow friction at -30. Hazard of the day exposure to the weather!
