Quick Observation
Was surprised to see little wind effect on the Pocaterra ridge side of the highway, 5-10cm of fist resistance snow on top of old surfaces and tracks. Observed many old crowns and debris out of N and E facing steep alpine faces, both point release and windslab releasing from just under the cornices, up to size 2. Saw one sz 1.5 avalanche run over E facing cliffs, couldn't make out whether it was windslab or point release. Main line on South bowl of Pocaterra ridge quite tracked out, but still some quality powder stashes to be found. Barely hit any rocks, saw other parties had skied N and E fans with good looking turns, but we stayed out of this terrain due to overhead hazard and evidence of past instability on those aspects. Winds light from the NW all day, S-1 most of day, observed small amount of wind transport off of high peaks.
