Macdonald West shoulder

Dug a pit at 2200m before heading down for some good turns. A compression test resulted in a fracture at 30cm after 15 taps and another fracture at 85cm after 17 taps. Slope angle was roughly 35 degrees. Everything below 1700m needed more snow... lots of rocks and alders still exposed and hiding just below the surface ready to grab your skis!
