Torpy

Will Evdokimoff, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Great day riding the Torpy. last 4km into/ out from bottom of burn was rough. Thick rain crust was found here at many different elevations (up to 2000m when crossing over a wind effected ridge) while digging out sleds as found a couple weeks back at the Telkwas in Houston following the November warm spell. No issues finding deep fresh snow. probed 200cm in open trees after digging out sled. On a few occasions heard some drumming but nothing serious as it was while boondocking. Large cornices forming up high on ridges and wind loading noticed in alpine. Seen a few others out enjoying the white gold. Stopped to see if one needed some help but had just finished rolling sled over. Ear to ear smiles all around. Heard of no other incidents and seen no recent avalanche activity.
