Great day skiing Zoa. Early morning the snow was all dry powder and by the afternoon it had warmed up a bit and got heavier. The top surface was definitely slabbing, even in the early morning.
Dug a pit and did a compression test at the top of Zoa sub-summit facing N. The pit (HS 165cm) showed the crust as expected about 110cm down, with facets underneath it. On top of it we saw some facets. The snowpack on top of the crust was all dense (about 4f to 1f) until the top 25cm which was light powder. The weak layer did not collapse or react in the compression test.
Didn't observe any naturals or skier triggers.
Day was pretty warm with fog and the sun shining through at points. No new precip.

Dense trees, Mellow slopes, Open trees.
Avalanche Conditions
30cm + of new snow, or significant drifting, or rain in the last 48 hours.
