Dust on crust, good enough for us

With yesterday's new snow reviving our stoke for skiing we sledded into Forster Creek towards the Catamount Glacier. We parked at ~25 km up the Forster Creek FSR and sledded in from there- the track is pretty wooped out but it was fast travel and good traction on the steeper climb up to Catamount. We transitioned to skis in the Moraines below Catamount glacier and found 15 to 20 cm of new snow over a crust that existed to ~2400 m. We had good dust on crust and no real avalanche concern in the areas we travelled- there were no slab properties in the new snow, no evidence of recent avalanche activity and no signs of recent wind-loading. We turned around because we ran out of time but expect the skiing on the glacier would have been excellent.
