Fraser South Couloir & "Little Chamonix

Saturday - Fraser Ridge South Couloir: Strong south wind was transporting snow onto north aspects all day. South aspects were wind scoured/sastrugi up high, but decent soft wind affected snow/corn lower down. We saw multiple sloughs off Fraser Peak (north aspects) from serious/extreme terrain. One party skied the Big Kahuna, seemingly from the summit. Mostly sunny with some cloud. Sunday - Taiya "Little Chamonix": Given the wind loading observed on north aspects, we opted for a south aspect. Skied the wide couloir/pass on the south face of Taiya. A very supportive crust made for excellent travel, and topped with 10-25 cm of fresh powder, skiing was great. No evidence of wind/storm slab consolidation on the south aspects we skied; however, with the strong crust 10-25 cm down, I anticipate the snow could consolidate in the coming days. A couple of old small sloughs from extreme terrain were observed, but no activity today.
