Quick Observation
15-20cm of light, dry snow over a firm crust on solar aspects and a well settled snowpack on true North. This made skinning quite difficult on steep solar aspects, even with ski crampons. There were a few natural size 1 slabs on the crust on solars, but mostly dry loose. There had been some Northerly winds, but we didn't feel any windslabs. Skiing was excellent, especially on true North. On other aspects sluffing of the new snow meant skiing wasn’t quite as good. South aspects had a thin surface crust by the afternoon. Make the most of it before it warms up again!
