Surprise Pass

Overall riding quality was very good. In the immediate lee at the top of col, there was a 5cm stiff wind slab which made for a few hooky turns, not reactive. This quickly turned to good powder, 15 to 30cm of fist+ overlying a supportive crust. Good turns most of the way down getting progressively rockier towards the exit. Didn't observe any recent avalanche activity. Approach was good.
