We went to Evening Ridge today. We went through the hummingbird pass. We had to go over some creeks and around many boulders. Once pass hummingbird pass our ascent to the ridge went well despite the many branches that are not covered yet by the snow. We are still missing 1 meter of snow to make it more rideable. We dug a pit yo access the situation.
We had 90 cm depth. There was 44cm of very light powdery snow on top of the November rain crust. Everything felt solid when we were riding and we could not feel the crust on our way down. The main hazards are trees and rocks. It’s important to be very careful. We are getting there. Hopefully this week Mother Nature will bring a enough new snow.
