Van Horlick

feb 3 -5 van horlick fsr. mostly cloudy, with the sun poking out sunday. southerly winds were mostly light sometimes up to strong. 2-5cm of snow accumulated each day. One size 3 Na avalanche on frequent performer observed ~12hours old. New snow was sluffing on terrain 45 degrees and steeper. wind loaded convexities were not reactive to ski cuts. skied mostly treeline with the occasional alpine run when viz was good.

Na avalanche overnight friday-saturday. frequent performer with old debris still slightly visible where new debris had not reached start zone is is an unsupported catch feature with two large (~100m) cliff bands above and below. Sorry no photo.
