Another day of pitch perfect powder conditions on the island today! We rumbled up Crumble mountain on sleds before switching to touring gear for a totally stunning walk along the ridge. Our snow profile showed a confidence-inspiring, right side up snowpack and yielded no significant shears (mostly hard, resistant, or non planar breaks). The light breeze and continued cool temps (-5 C on the ridge) seemed to keep the surface from becoming moist at our elevation and above. We saw no signs of avalanche activity and not so much as a sluff from the steep south-facing walls of Mt Colonel Foster in the distance.
