A cold day of skiing in Crowsnest Pass. We observed natural slab avalanche activity as well as several small loose dry avalanches to size 1 in recent storm snow. Loose dry observed in steep rocky south facing terrain.
Snow conditions were: Powder. Weather conditions were: Cold. We rode: Mellow slopes. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Steep slopes. Riding quality was ok.
Avalache Conditions: Slab avalanches today or yesterday.
We did not see the sun for much of the day while skiing in dense forest. This kept it feeling quite cold.
Numerous size 1 natural wind slabs observed in an alpine basin in Crowsnest Pass. Most results observed in very steep unskiable terrain. Debris deposited onto fan, did not trigger any deeper layers.
