Went up to scout out some new terrain. Wet snow at parking lot at 950m. Icy crust and tree bomb craters in West facing trees up to 1300m with heavy powder above to 1550m. Visibility 100m. Not a fun ski down.

Snow conditions were: Crusty, Heavy, Powder. Weather conditions were: Cloudy, Foggy, Stormy, Windy. We rode: Dense trees, Mellow slopes. We avoided: Alpine slopes, Steep slopes. Riding quality was terrible.

Avalache Conditions: 30cm + of new snow, or significant drifitng, or rain in the last 48 hours.

Snowpack

Test pit on West Facing 35 degree slope. CTE 6 RP in new storm snow at 10 and 15cm down. ECTx no propagating fractures.
