Farm Cabin

<p>Skiing two days out of the farm cabin. Mainly skiing at treeline and below as a hard wind slap exists from a wind event approx. 1 week ago making poor quality skiing. Good skiing in the trees where wind slab was not present. Approx. 15 cm of snow fell on Saturday (Jan 14) evening. Winds were generally light although some SW transport at ridgetop. 3 pits, snowpack fairly cohesive with the exception of 10-20 cm of basal facets. Pits results were as follows on various locations 1300-1500 meters in the trees: CT no results, CTH2, CTE0 (collapse on cutting the column), interesting. Approx 130cm of snow at 1500 meters, no signs of recent avalanches. Still punchy snowpack in open areas such as the burn or meadows, but fairly supportive above 1000 meters elsewhere. Temps below freezing all weekend but snow has fairly dense, significant warming expected today (Jan 16 and onwards).</p>
