Sick at Sinclair

Northwest Inland

Today, we rode at Sinclair. There was great visibility, and we were able to see a ton of terrain. We observed two sizes 1.5 avalanches. One was a windslab and the other a persistent slab failing on the facets above the December crust layer. We dug a snow pit on an east aspect and found 190cm of snow. The December crust was down 70cm with 15 cm of facets above the crust. We were able to produce moderate results in a compression test down 60cm in the facets. We found excellent riding quality in sheltered areas. Some windward locations were scoured to ground.
