While access at Pine Pass is a bit of a deterrent, with lower elevations being mud and ice, 35cm of new snow up high lured us back out. Once we got to treeline we were on the lookout for storm slabs and wind slabs but found just good riding. The new snow seemed to be bonding well and we didn't get any results on test slopes. We did see one cornice failure that likely happened yesterday. Today the winds were light from the south-west. Below 1400m and on sunny slopes the surface of the new snow had become moist by afternoon. We saw numerous loose wet to size one on sunny slopes.
